A view on Fishing,Community and Life on the NW coast of Scotland

Colour Wins over Driech.

One o’clock at the Inn and only a family of five sitting at the end snacking on crisps and nuts having driven up from Herts overnight. Wee rush on the calendars as they bought one, one-off to Dunoon and another for Camusterrach. Always nervous that we will be left with some but it is looking good and although I keep saying it I really do appreciate the positive comments about it, just not used to being involved in art.

(4 hours later) Well that was a little unexpected, most tables used and a number of happy customers all have just left. Had to take a photo of the colourful Mexican lady wearing the local dress of Columbia,

such a splash of brightness on such a drab day. Good consolation is that it is the Solstice and the days will be lengthening even if we do not notice it for a few days. Back to our Mexican lady, quiet, colourful and happy so I asked if it was okay to take her photo. And compared to the scene outside.

Going back the way I stopped off on the way home last night at the Shed, where I believe there was a bit of shed envy taking place. But the beautiful multi purpose shed was the setting for Helen and Marion’s secret wedding celebration. All very young and vibrant and very pleasant to dip into for a while.

Caught the very brief speeches,

consumed a pint of water, had a good ceilidh with a few people and was back on the bike and home by midnight. As I am doing this backwards it was a very quiet session at the Inn with only the party goers dropping in for pre shed tipples to liven the Inn up for an hour or so. Made up the Christmas Eve Quiz when they had all left, served a last pint to a stray and locked up having not been too overworked. So slowish days to finish off the year and leave you with the good news the Rona station is up and running again although not functioning as it should and decisions need to be made about our way ahead. Bigger, more robust turbine or a different position. Good news for the North coast anyway. Looking ahead the next weekends weather does not look too sharp but that may change. And a couple of Panto photos I forgot to include in the last post,
