A view on Fishing,Community and Life on the NW coast of Scotland

Work/Life Balance

Very poor fishing today and only hauled 300 before heading off ashore. Next tide the Varuna is due for a wash. As I have had her copper bottomed I do not have to anti foul each year but an annual pressure wash is still needed and as I am a knot down on speed it will have to be soon.

Up to the Inn after an afternoon snooze and it was not too busy for us with three on and with the weather good there was no pressure on seating. every one in a good mood, enjoying the weather and the food. Also good news on the Boss front. Having had her CAT scan clear yesterday and although having a couple of unsuccessful lumbar punctures the guys at Raigmore have given Judith the all clear and she has been discharged today and is on the way home tomorrow.

Bit of interest at the end of the night as a couple from the Potteries had a car key malfunction.

Unsuccessful repair and it was all hands to get the Merc on to the trailer for the long haul south.

Mervyn the Mastiff was totally unconcerned by all the activity and watched from one of the outside tables but was happy to be underway.

On the way home you can see how Robert, the chef, has his work/life balance sorted….at least he has this evening, not so sure he will be saying that at 8.45pm tomorrow.

  1. That Merc on a trailer puts the achievement of the Austin Seven a fews back in perspective 🙂
