Inverness again today, this time with the adorable Dougal who has grown out of his puppy name,Big Fatty. He was off to Connon Bridge for his second jab so he can make new friends safely. He has a week before he is really safe but on the way home met Roy from the North Coast,Hill still closed so it was the long way round.. Roy liked Dougal a lot and did not seem to mind that Dougal was a dog. That is now three generations of dogs we have two of them not planned. Very friendly neighbours.
Carried on to Inverness to do a dog shop and visit my favourite shop there, Highland Wholefoods. Had to buy some strong flour as I bought Dan Lepard’s baking book and plan to bake my own bread. Marion is to blame for this. I have had some of her efforts from the book and they were brilliant, mind you she can cook. So it is the easy white bread tomorrow. Forecast still poor although maybe quiet for a couple of hours in the morning. The only thing this weather is good for is the bookwork I have been avoiding for the last two months
Yesterday when I was up at the Filling Station doing a reboot so Judy could get some diesel we noticed the search and rescue helicopter was landed up at the Bay. Unfortunately that usually means some one is off to Raigmore and sure enough that’s what happened. At the moment the place seems to be going through a bad spell regarding a few people’s health. Our neighbour was also taken off in the ambulance. The NHS in this area is first class. We still have 24/7 cover and in emergencies have the Sea King when the weather is too bad for the air ambulance. Back to the Filling Station, as well as card declining we have a problem with the petrol pump. There seems to be a bad batch of motors on the go and we have to wait for a reconditioned one. It is always difficult when a reliable service breaks down. There are quite a few residents low or out of petrol. Maybe the horse was not such a bad idea.
